Limited Capacity seats available

The February 2015 release of the ACRL Framework for Information for Higher Education represented a dramatic shift in the academic librarian community’s vision for library instruction. This revision was welcomed by many who had begun to see the former standards as an inflexible checklist of information behaviours, out of line with the realities of the 21st century information environment. As welcome as these changes are, a more complex vision of information literacy and library instruction comes with the heavy responsibility of implementing a revised program at our institutions. What practical applications are there for this new framework?
Join instruction librarian xxx to see one example of implementing the Framework into a typical one-shot instruction session. This presentation will include discussions of threshold concepts, their general characteristics and significance to information literacy instruction, their definitions under the Framework, and ultimately, core considerations for applying these new ideas to our instructional practice in a way that resonates with students.
